Halo 3: ODST has enjoyed an odd path to release. The game was hinted at during E3 2008, with Microsoft then pulling the plug on the big reveal, deciding instead to unveil the game at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show. To coincide with the big-screen adaptation of The Rise of Cobra, Electronic Arts has produced a tie-in game that is nearly the same quality as its inspiration: something that might be appealing for younger audiences, but ultimately forgettable in the long run.
