It used to be so easy to slag on Guitar Hero 5. There didn’t seem to be enough new features to keep our interest over past rhythm games, it’s coming with a glut of other rhythm games, it didn’t show very well at E3…. the list goes on. Of course, now Activision goes and sends us a list of 24 tracks that will be included in the game and sadly we’re excited again. It’s clear that taste in music is subjective, but take a look at the song list.

What does it take to update a classic, and do it well? I was challenged to pick up a game called Radial 50 for the iPhone, and while I thought the most likely outcome would be $2 blown on a crappy BreakOut clone, the game turned out to be quite the pleasant surprise. The circular design worked well, the game was fun, and the music added to the atmosphere. I decided to catch up with Robin Rath, the creator of the game, to find out what it takes to put your own stamp on such a well-worn design.

A new expansion pack for WipEout HD has been revealed thanks to a developer post on the Playstation Blog. Dubbed Fury, the expansion pack will feature a ton of new content for a pretty reasonable price. Not only that, but the game is also set to receive a free update in the same week of release.
