When Electronic Arts announced that it was developing a mixed martial arts game, many fans were skeptical. After all, THQ had just released the very successful UFC Undisputed, and EA was attempting to compete with an unlicensed product. Things looked worse when UFC president Dana White threatened to blacklist any fighter who chose to appear in EA’s game. But now EA Sports MMA finally has some good news, as EA has revealed three fighters who will be appearing in the game.

The World of Warcraft forums are buzzing with complaints from players claiming that their accounts have been suspended because of chargebacks filed against them by a company that they have no connection with. The King of Fighters is one of those franchises that has been around for over a decade, but hasn’t made an appearance on the current generation of consoles—until now. Unlike other series, The King of Fighters games have never really strayed into the realm of 3D fighting; instead, they’ve played to their strengths of fast-paced 2D action. The King of Fighters XII, released this week for the PS3 and Xbox 360, sticks to its 2D guns, but lacks enough content to earn a definite thumbs-up.

Microsoft Research has released an online Silverlight game dubbed Page Hunt to help improve Bing search results. The game has no direct influence on Bing as it is a research project only, but it brings together useful information on user search habits which could one day be used to tweak search algorithms and the ranking scheme. To keep the game interesting, Page Hunt includes a timer, score keeping, a top-scorers list, taboo queries, and bonus points (like for avoiding frequently-used categories).
